Frequently Asked Questions

Does resizing reduce image quality?

ImgMin uses high-quality Canvas API resampling. Quality loss when downsizing is minimal. In Cover mode, edges are cropped but the center remains unchanged.

What is the difference between Contain and Cover?

Contain scales the image to fit within the target dimensions without cropping or upscaling. Cover fills exactly the target dimensions and crops from the center, ideal for platforms that require exact sizes like Taobao or Instagram.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device. You can verify this in your browser's network tab — zero image data leaves your device.

What image formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats. PNGs remain PNGs after resizing (preserving transparency), JPGs remain JPGs.
