TL;DR: ImgMin processes all images in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to our servers. We don't collect, store, or have access to any images you compress.

1. How ImgMin Works

ImgMin is a client-side image compression tool. All image processing happens entirely within your web browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. When you compress an image with ImgMin:

Your image is read locally by your browser's FileReader API
Compression is performed using the Canvas API on your device
The compressed image is available for download directly from your browser
No image data is ever transmitted to any server

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal, anonymized usage data through Google Analytics to understand how the tool is used:

Page views and session duration
Browser type and operating system
Country-level geographic data (no precise location)
Referral source

We do not collect:

Any image data or metadata
Personal information (name, email, etc.)
IP addresses (anonymized in Google Analytics)

3. Local Storage

ImgMin uses your browser's localStorage to remember:

Your language preference
Snow effect toggle state

ImgMin uses IndexedDB to persist compression data across page refreshes. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
Cloudflare CDN — serves the JSZip library for batch downloads

5. Cookies

ImgMin itself does not set any cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies for analytics purposes. You can opt out using browser settings or extensions like Google Analytics Opt-out.

6. GDPR Compliance

ImgMin is GDPR-compliant by design. Since no personal data or images are transmitted to our servers, the primary data protection concerns do not apply. The minimal analytics data collected is anonymized.

7. Children's Privacy

ImgMin does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The tool is available for general use without account creation.

8. Open Source

ImgMin's source code is publicly available on GitHub. You can verify our privacy claims by reviewing the code.
